Treating Sport Injuries With Traditional Chinese Medicine

A patient came into my office with a complaint of pain in her ankle. She had fallen over 2 months ago producing an ankle sprain. She initially sort treatment from her primary care physician who prescribed anti-inflammatory medication.

After completing the medication she continued to have swelling in her ankle, she developed a limp as the swelling restricted normal movement.

I started care with Gua Sha, see therapy page for more information, to increase lymphatic drainage. I also used acupuncture to stimulate points that are responsible for increase circulation. In addition Traditional Chinese Herbs that target the ankle were prescribed to aid in pain reduction and swelling.

As you can see the pre and post photos of the ankle show the drastic change in the swellings all within 2 weeks of care.
